View page
US Patent:
20060076165, Apr 13, 2006
Filed:
Oct 3, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/242257
Inventors:

View page
US Patent:
20060252591, Nov 9, 2006
Filed:
May 3, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/121239
Inventors:
Antoine Winkelmolen - Shawnee KS, US
Robert Jones - Dartmouth, CA

The belt plate () is secured to the frame () by securement pins () and pivot pins (). The carrier belt () is driven externally rather than internally and is tensioned with minimal obstruction to removing the belt (), which thereby facilitates disassembly of the system (), particularly frequent removal, cleaning, and replacement of the belt () as may be necessary or desirable in, for example, the food processing industry. More specifically, the drive mechanism () is located substantially completely outside of and adjacent to the internal area () defined by the looping belt (), and the tensioning mechanism () is low profile presenting minimal to no obstruction when removing the belt () from the belt plate ().

Apparatus For Stunning Animal

View page
US Patent:
20070254572, Nov 1, 2007
Filed:
Mar 6, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/369082
Inventors:
Frank Criscione - Kansas City MO, US
Antoine Winkelmolen - Shawnee KS, US
International Classification:
A22B 3/06
US Classification:
452058000
Abstract:
An apparatus () and a method for stunning an animal, such as a chicken or other domesticated fowl, prior to performing one or more other processing operations on the animal, wherein the length of a path that the animal travels during exposure to the stunning force is variable. Varying the length of the path allows for compensating for variations in the speed with which the animal is moved along the path. By varying the length of the path in proportion to the variation in the speed, the time during which the animal is exposed to the stunning force can be maintained substantially constant, thereby avoiding the undesirable effects of over- and underexposure.
