Tolleson has served as peer reviewer on scale dependent seismic effects on soil behavior in foundation engineering. Currently involved with energy efficiency evaluations and waste to energy applications. Senior author on a number of published and unpublished manuscipts. Tolleson has researched practical applciations of principal component anaysis (PCA) as it applies to spectral analysis of reflectance spectra from solid surfaces.
