Liquid Level Switch Assembly

View page
US Patent:
53747909, Dec 20, 1994
Filed:
Feb 5, 1993
Appl. No.:
7/969085
Inventors:
Agoston Horvath - Plano TX
Assignee:
Rochester Gauges, Inc. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
H01H 3518
US Classification:
200 84C
Abstract:
A liquid level switch assembly is provided which can be adjusted as to what liquid level will actuate the switch. A support bracket is mountable to the tank and a float arm is pivotally mounted to the support bracket inside the tank by way of a pivot axle. A magnet is mounted to the pivot axle such that the magnet rotates as the float arm pivots to follow the liquid level on the tank but such that the angular position of the poles of the magnet can be adjusted relative to the float arm when the float arm is retained as the magnet is rotated. A reed switch is mounted on the support bracket near the magnet such that when the float arm is in a predetermined range of angular position relative to the horizontal, the reed switch is actuated by the magnet.

Liquid Level Gauge With Hinged Float Arm

US Patent:
62536095, Jul 3, 2001
Filed:
May 8, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/566593
Inventors:
Herbert G. Ross - Argyle TX
Agoston Horvath - Plano TX
Assignee:
Rochester Gauges, Inc. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
G01F 2330
G01F 2356
G01F 2300
G01F 2332
US Classification:
73305
Abstract:
A float-type liquid level gauge (20) is provided for measuring the level of a liquid within a storage tank (22). The gauge includes a gauge head (30) adapted for mounting to a portion of liquid storing container, a support arm (32) connected to the gauge head and depending therefrom into the tank, a float arm (34) including an elongate inner arm section (46), an elongate outer arm section (48) and a hinge section (50), and a float (36) connected to the outer end of the float arm. The inner section of the float arm is pivotally connected to the support arm for movement through an arc defining a first plane. The hinge section is connected at a first end to an outer end of the inner arm section and connected at an opposite end to the inner end of the outer arm section. The hinge section is deflectable to allow movement of the outer arm section between a first configuration in which the outer arm section is in a predetermined position with respect to the inner arm section, and a second configuration in which the outer arm section is not in the predetermined position. The hinge section provides a biasing force for urging the outer arm section into the first configuration.

Multi-Positional Thermometer

US Patent:
49500856, Aug 21, 1990
Filed:
Feb 6, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/306571
Inventors:
Agoston Horvath - Plano TX
Assignee:
Rochester Gauges, Inc. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
G01K 562
US Classification:
374207
Abstract:
A temperature sensing device having a gauge and a stem assemblies and utilizing a flexible coupling to transmit rotation through predetermined angles from a helical temperature sensitive element, to an indicator, further utilizing means to rotate the gauge assembly relative to the stem assembly. The gauge assembly includes a dial and the stem assembly includes the indicator, a stem, and the helical temperature sensitive element whereby rotation of the gauge assembly with respect to the stem assembly allows calibration of the dial to the indicator to reflect the appropriate temperature reading on the dial of the gauge assembly.

Herbert G. Ross - Argyle TX
Agoston Horvath - Plano TX
Assignee:
Rochester Gauges, Inc. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
G01F 2332
G01F 2330
G01F 2300
US Classification:
73305
Abstract:
Liquid level lever gauge with a hinged counterweight segment, or a hinged float arm segment or both a hinged float arm segment and a hinged counterweight segment. Height Sensor And Air Spring Apparatus Incorporating The Same In The Air Chamber

View page
US Patent:
58596925, Jan 12, 1999
Filed:
May 16, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/857393
Inventors:
Herbert G. Ross - Argyle TX
Agoston Horvath - Plano TX
Assignee:
Rochester Gauges, Inc. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
G01C 0308
F16F 904
US Classification:
356 401
Abstract:
An air spring apparatus with an internal height sensor is provided. The air spring includes an end cap member, a piston member and a flexible annular sleeve connected therebetween forming a sealed air chamber. The height sensor includes a sensing element and an indicating element and is mounted within the air chamber. The sensing element is mounted to one of the end cap member and piston member. The indicating element has a first portion connected to the end cap member, a second portion connected to the piston member, and an elastic member connected therebetween. The length of the elastic member defines an indicating level sensible by the sensing element such that movement of the end cap member relative to the piston member produces a much smaller proportional movement of the indicating level relative to the sensing element. This proportion reduction of movement allows a smaller sensor to measure a relatively large change in height.
