Associated Students at San José State University
The A.S. 55 Award is an opportunity to honor and recognize those who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to San José State University and have continually given back to the campus community. Each year, students are nominated by their fellow students, faculty, staff, administrators and community members. Fifty‐five students are chosen by a selection committee.

Representing San José State University, as Homecoming Royalty is not only an honor, but is one of the highest recognitions for achievement that can be awarded. Students are selected by a panel of judges (Alumni Board, Student Affairs, Academic Senate, and last years H.C. king and queen) on the basis of an interview, a detailed resume, campus and community involvement, and academic achievement.

A part-time AmeriCorps program offering education awards to college students who serve their community in critical needs areas for 300 hours within a year.
International Sociology Honor Society: Alpha Kappa Delta

AKD seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition. Must have an overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4-point scale, and a 3.2 in the sociology classes taken at SJSU.
