Systems, Methods, And Computer Readable Media For Providing Instantaneous Failover Of Packet Processing Elements In A Network

View page
US Patent:
8472311, Jun 25, 2013
Filed:
Feb 4, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/700444
Inventors:
Richard Rodgers - Charlestown MA, US
James H. Cervantes - Lexington MA, US
Assignee:
Genband US LLC - Frisco TX
International Classification:
H04L 12/26
G06F 11/16
US Classification:
370217, 370225, 714 411
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer program products for providing instantaneous failover of packet processing elements in a network are disclosed. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a system for providing instantaneous failover of packet processing elements in a network. The system includes a plurality of packet processing elements for processing packets in a network and a packet distribution module for maintaining information about the operating status of each element of the plurality of packet processing elements, for maintaining information about packet flows being processed by the packet processing elements, and, for each packet flow, assigning one of the plurality of packet processing elements as the primary element for the packet flow and assigning another of the plurality of packet processing elements as the secondary element for the packet flow. The packet distribution module routing packets to the packet processing elements according to the operating status of the packet processing elements that have been assigned to the packet flow with which the packets are associated.

Methods, Systems, And Computer Readable Media For Maintaining Flow Affinity To Internet Protocol Security (Ipsec) Sessions In A Load-Sharing Security Gateway

View page
US Patent:
20100268935, Oct 21, 2010
Filed:
May 15, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/467242
Inventors:
Richard Rodgers - Charlestown MA, US
James Cervantes - Lexington MA, US
International Classification:
H04L 29/06
US Classification:
713153
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and computer readable media for maintaining flow affinity to IPSec sessions in a load-sharing security gateway are disclosed. According to one embodiment, the method includes receiving packets at a security gateway that provides communications of packet flows between source and destination entities using IPSec sessions. For each packet, it is determined whether the packet is assigned to an existing packet flow between a source and a destination entity that is being processed by the SG. In response to determining that the packet belongs to an existing flow, the packet is forwarded to a processing element associated with that flow and IPSec processing is performed at the processing element. In response to determining that the packet does not belong to an existing flow, a new flow is defined and assigned to a next available processing element. IPSec processing is performed for the flow at the next available processing element.

Anisotropic Endless Printing Element And Method For Making The Same

View page
US Patent:
53479270, Sep 20, 1994
Filed:
May 4, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/058067
Inventors:
Claude Berna - Moosch, FR
Dennis O'Rell - Boxboro MA
Herve Praet - Mulhouse, FR
Gerard Rich - Orschwihr, FR
Richard Rodgers - Hudson MA
Jean P. Stutz - Vieux Thann, FR
Assignee:
W. R. Grace & Co.-Conn. - New York NY
International Classification:
B41N 112
US Classification:
1014011
Abstract:
An exemplary anisotropic printing element comprises an outer printing surface layer and, located radially beneath the outer layer, a spirally-integrated reinforced compressible tubular structure comprising a reinforcing sheet having synthetic fibers, the sheet being spirally wrapped at least two complete turns circumferentially around the longitudinal axis of the tubular structure, thereby defining an inner tubular surface on a radially inward wrapped sheet portion and an outer tubular surface on a radially outward wrapped sheet portion, the tubular structure further comprising an elastomer having voids, the elastomer being disposed between the inner and outer tubular surfaces defined by the wrapped sheet portions, the void-containing elastomer thereby providing radial compressibility to and being spirally-integrated within the tubular structure. Examplary methods for fabricating the printing elements of the invention are also disclosed.

Devices And Methods For Installation And Removal Of A Needle Tip Of A Needle

View page
US Patent:
20200238021, Jul 30, 2020
Filed:
Dec 23, 2019

Variable Volume Infusion Port

View page
US Patent:
20190262597, Aug 29, 2019
Filed:
Feb 26, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/905202
Inventors:
- Stoughton MA, US
Richard P. RODGERS - Hudson MA, US
International Classification:
A61M 39/04
Abstract:
A variable volume infusion port is provided. The infusion port may include a port body having an internal fluid reservoir, a septum, a stem to fluidly couple to a catheter lumen, and a displaceable member disposed in the internal fluid reservoir. In a first position, the displaceable member is disposed proximate the septum, providing a relatively small fluid volume within the infusion port. Insertion of an injection device through the septum causes the displaceable member to move to a second location distal from the septum, providing a relatively large fluid volume within the infusion port for the duration the injection device remains in the infusion port. The displaceable member may include a rigid member operably coupled to a biasing element or a flexible member coupled to a biasing element.
