In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a sensor capacitor based on one or more pairs of parallel conductor surfaces, a housing to encompass the sensor capacitor, a digitizer module in the housing to generate a digital measurement based on a change in a capacitance of the sensor capacitor when a contact zone of the housing is deflected by a force applied on the contact zone. The apparatus also includes a compensation module of the digitizer module to apply another digital measurement of one or more distortion factors to the digital measurement to minimize an effect of the one or more distortion factors to the apparatus. In addition, the apparatus includes a communication module to communicate an analog signal and/or a digital signal through a wired channel and/or a wireless channel.

A sensor based inventory management system and method is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of real time inventory management includes providing a communication backbone between an inventory system and an inventory management server. The method also includes communicating a signal generated by a sensor unit of a sensor based inventory bin of the inventory system to the inventory management server through an interface. In addition, the method also includes determining a quantity of an inventory item in the sensor based inventory bin by processing the signal using an algorithm through a processor of the inventory management server. The method also includes communicating a request to a supplier for updating the quantity of the inventory item in the sensor based inventory bin of the inventory system. The method further includes updating the quantity of the inventory item in the sensor based inventory bin of the inventory system.

An augmented reality (AR) effect system can improve application of AR effects by sharing resources between AR effects. The AR effect system can employ manifests for AR effects that define which resources are required to render each AR effect. The AR effect system can organize rendering operations used by selected AR effects into a pipeline and can use the manifests of the AR effects to determine when each resource will be needed. Based on this pipeline, the AR effect system can create a cache order defining a resource schedule which specifies, when a resource is freed, conditions for whether to save the resource to a local cache or unload the resource. As rendering of the video with the AR effects progresses, the resource schedule can control whether resources not currently being used to render an AR effect should be unloaded or cached for fast access for future render operations.
