Dec 26, 2007
Appl. No.:
12/518382
Inventors:
Xin Wei - Pearland TX, US
Yuanjian Deng - Houston TX, US
Renard L. Thomas - Angleton TX, US
Bobby Wilson - Houston TX, US
Assignee:
Texas Southern University - Houston TX
International Classification:
B32B 5/16
B05D 1/12
C25D 5/10
B82B 1/00
US Classification:
205 50, 427180, 205183, 977892, 977748
Abstract:
A method comprising: dispersing carbon nanotubes in a solvent; and depositing the carbon nanotubes on a porous, conductive substrate; wherein the porous, conductive substrate is capable of functioning as a filter and a working electrode. The method of claim further comprising: engaging the porous, conductive substrate with deposited carbon nanotubes in an electrochemical cell; and depositing at least one metallic structure on the surface of the carbon nanotubes from an electrolyte solution to form metallized carbon nanotubes. A composite comprising: metallized carbon nanotubes generated by the method of claim wherein the at least one metallic structure comprises a conductive metal atom selected from the group consisting of platinum, gold nickel, copper, iron, chromium, zinc, and combinations thereof; and a matrix material selected from the group consisting of epoxies, thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers, metals, metal matrix composites, ceramics and combinations thereof.

Information Device For Facilitating Merchandise Inventory Control

View page
US Patent:
39914950, Nov 16, 1976
Filed:
Dec 4, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/529280
Inventors:
Bobby G. Wilson - Rosenberg TX
International Classification:
G09F 1130
US Classification:
40 64R
Abstract:
An inventory information device for facilitating merchandise inventory control in accordance with the present invention comprises a housing defining a chamber therein. Means is provided for retaining the housing in assembly with a merchandise display shelf in order that inventory information provided on the device may be inspected by inventory control personnel. An inventory information element is movably received within the chamber of the housing and is capable of being moved from a retracted position where the element is substantially fully received within the housing, to an extended position, where the element is at least partially extended from the housing and exposing indicia that is present on the inventory information element. A recess is formed in the housing that is aligned with an aperture formed in a portion of the inventory information element in the retracted position of the inventory information element. A stylus, pencil or any other suitably pointed element may be inserted through the recess of the housing into the aperture of the inventory information element and force may be applied through the stylus to impart movement of the inventory information element toward the extended position thereof.

Catalyst For The Hydroconversion Of Carbonaceous Materials

View page
US Patent:
45619646, Dec 31, 1985
Filed:
Oct 1, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/655787
Inventors:
Gopal H. Singhal - Houston TX
Karla S. Colle - Houston TX
Edward H. Edelson - Seabrook TX
Bobby L. Wilson - Missouri City TX
Loan H. Dao - Houston TX
Assignee:
Exxon Research and Engineering Co. - Florham Park NJ
International Classification:
C10G 106
C10G 4702
C10G 4704
C10G 4500
US Classification:
208 10
Abstract:
An improved hydroconversion process for carbonaceous materials wherein a monohydrocarbyl substituted dithiocarbamate of a metal selected from Group VIII-A of the Periodic Table of Elements or a mixture thereof is used as a catalyst precursor. The improved process is effective for both normally solid and normally liquid carbonaceous materials and for carbonaceous materials which are either solid or liquid at the conversion conditions. The hydroconversion will be accomplished at a temperature within the range from about 500. degree. to about 900. degree. F. , at a total pressure within the range from about 500 to 7000 psig and at a hydrogen partial pressure within the range from about 400 to about 5000 psig.

Method And System For The Early Detection Of The Jamming Of A Core Sampling Device In An Earth Borehole, And For Taking Remedial Action Responsive Thereto

View page
US Patent:
54172950, May 23, 1995
Filed:
Jun 16, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/078702
Inventors:
M. Vikram Rao - Houston TX
Bobby T. Wilson - Houston TX
Laban M. Marsh - Houston TX
Assignee:
Sperry Sun Drilling Services, Inc. - Houston TX
International Classification:
E21B 4709
US Classification:
175 40
Abstract:
A drill string having a core sampling device at its lower end is suspended in an earth borehole by a rotary drilling rig at the earth's surface. Drilling fluid pulsations are monitored in the drilling fluid standpipe to generate characteristic signatures of normal coring operations and a precursor, abnormal, signature when the core sampling device first begins to jam, before catastrophic jamming has occurred. Responsive to the abnormal signature, remedial action is commenced, such as reducing WOB, RPM, or terminating the coring operation. The system is also used to determine that an activatable downhole tool has one or more of its parts moved from a first position to a second position.
